세례

Baptism, a Rite of Passage Baptism is a rite of passage. The Jewish people passed through the Red Sea to the Promised Land in the great exodus. Jesus himself wanted to make this exodus by passing through suffering and death into the house of his heavenly Father. This was his baptism. He asked his disciples and now ask us. "Can you ... be baptised with baptism with which I shall be baptised?" (Mark 10:38). When the apostle Paul, therefore, speaks about our baptism, he calls it a baptism into Jesus's death (Roman 6:4). To be baptized means to make the passage with the people of Israel and with Jesus from slavery to freedom and from death to new life. It is a commitment to a life in and through Jesus	rite - 의식, 관습 passage - 통로, 여행, 나아감
세례, 통과 의식 세례는 통과 의식이다. 유대인들은 거대한 출애굽안에서 약속의 땅으로 가고자 홍해를 관통했다. 예수님 자신은 고통과 죽음을 지남으로 그의 하늘 아버지의 집으로 들어가는 이러한 출애굽을 만들기를 원하셨다. 이것은 그의 세례식이었다. 그는 그의 제자들에게 요청했고 지금 우리에게도 요청된다. “ 당신은.. 내가 받아야할 세례를 너희가 받을 수 있느냐? (막 10:38). 사도 바울은, 그러므로, 우리의 세례에 대해 말씀하시고, 그는 예수님의 죽으심과 연합하는 세례라고 부르신다. (롬 6:4) 세례받는다는 것은 이스라엘 사람들과 함께 통행자가 되고, 예수님과 함께 노예에서 자유로 죽음에서 새 삶으로 나가는 것이다. 이것은 예수님을 통해서 또 안에서 생명의 헌신이 되는 것이다.
