Forgiving in the Name of GOD

We are all wounded people. Who wounds us? Often those whom we love and those who love us. When we feel rejected, abandoned, abused, manipulated, or violated, it is mostly by people very close to us: our parents, our friends, our spouses, our loves, our children, our neighbors, our teachers, our pastors. Those who love us wound us too. That's the tragedy of our lives. This is what makes forgiveness from the heart so difficult, It is precisely our hearts that are wounded. We cry out, "You, who I expected to be there for me, you have abandoned me, How can I ever forgive you for that?"

Forgiveness often seems impossible, but nothing is impossible for God. The God who lives within us will give us the grace to go beyond our wounded selves and say, "In the Name of God you are forgiven." Let's pray for that grace

하나님의 이름 안에서 용서하기

우리는 모두 상처받은 사람들이다. 누가 우리에게 상처를 주는가? 우리가 사랑하는 사람들 우리를 사랑하는 사람들이 자주 그렇게 한다. 우리가 거절당하고, 버림받고, 폐기되고, 폭력을 당했다고 느낄 때, 이것은 대부분 우리와 친근한 사람들에 의해서이다. 우리의 부모, 친구, 배우자, 연인, 아이들, 이웃, 선생님, 목사님들 이런 분들에 의해서 말이다. 우리를 사랑하는 그들이 우리에게 상처 또한 준다. 이것은 우리 삶의 비극이다. 이것이 마음으로부터의 용서가 그렇게 어려운 이유이다. 이것은 우리의 마음에 정확한 상처이다. 우리는 외친다. “당신, 나를 위해 거기 있기를 기대하는 당신, 당신이 나를 버렸다. 어떻게 내가 그런 당신을 용서할 수 있단 말인가?”

용서는 자주 불가능해 보인다. 그러나 하나님을 위해 불가능한 것은 아무것도 없다. 우리 안에 사시는 하나님은 우리에게 상처받은 우리 자신들을 넘어서는 은혜를 주시는 분으로 말씀하신다. “하나님의 이름 안에서 너는 용서받았다.” 그러한 은혜를 기도하도록 하자.
