The Pillars of the Church The two main sacraments, baptism and the Eucharist, are the spiritual pillars of the church. They are not simply instruments by which the Church exercises its ministry. They are not just means by which we become and remain members of the Church but belong to the essence of the Church. Without these sacraments there is no Church. The Church is the body of christ fashioned by baptism and the Eucharist. When people are baptized in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and when they gather around the table of Christ and receive his Body and Blood, they become the people of God, called the Church.
교회의 기둥 두 가지 성례전, 세례와 성만찬은 교회의 영적인 기둥이다. 그것들은 교회가 이것을 사역함으로 연습되어지는 간단한 구조가 아니다. 그것들은 단지 교회의 남겨진 멤버가 된다는 의미가 아니라 교회의 핵심에 속한 것이다. 그러한 성례전 없이 교회도 없다. 교회는 그리스도의 몸으로 세례와 성만찬으로 되는 것이다. 우리가 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 받을때, 우리가 그리스도의 식탁에 둘러앉아 그의 몸과 피를 받을 때, 그들은 교회라 불리워지는 하나님의 사람들이 되어진다.
