Standing under the cross Standing erect, holding our heads high, is the attitude of spiritually mature people in face of the calamities of our world. The facts of everyday life are a rich source for doomsday thinking and feeling. But it is possible for us to resist this temptation and to stand with self-confidence in this world, never losing our spiritual ground, always aware that "sky and earth will pass away" but the words of Jesus will never pass away (see Luke 21:33). Let us be like Mary, the mother of Jesus, who stood under the cross, trusting in God's faithfulness not with-standing the death of his beloved Child.	calamities - 큰 재앙 doomsday - 최후의 심판일 resist - 저항하다
십자가 아래 서기 똑바로 서는 것, 우리의 머리를 높이 고정시키는 것은 우리 세상의 큰 재앙을 대면하는 영적으로 성숙한 사람의 태도이다. 매일 삶의 사건들은 최후심판의 날 생각과 느낌을 위한 풍부한 재료를 제공하는 것이다. 그러나 우리를 위해 가능한 것은 이러한 유혹에 대항하고 자신감을 가지고 이러한 세상에 서기 위한 것이다. 결코 우리의 영적 기반을 잃지 않고, 항상 깨달아야 한다. “하늘과 땅은 없으지겠으나” 예수님의 말씀은 결코 없어지지 아니할 것이다 (눅 21:33). 십자가 아래에 서 있었던 예수의 어머니 마리아처럼 우리로 하게해야 하는데, 하나님의 믿음을 신뢰하는 것은 그의 사랑받는 아이들의 죽음과 함께 서는 것이 아니다.
